Electric Forklifts
Electric forklifts are one of the most popular choices of trucks. This is mainly due to the versatility of the machines as well as their low noise output. They are suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. When maintaining your used electric forklift, battery care is of the upmost importance.
Battery electric forklifts are the most environmentally friendly. They are fume free in operation, giving off no harmful emissions. They are also quiet in use, and due to the weight and concentrated mass of the battery, they are generally more maneuverable than engine powered equivalents, due to the battery weight acting as an effective counterbalance, enabling the truck to be more compact in size. The cost of recharging the battery overnight on low rate tariff is considerably less than replacing gas bottles or filling a tank with diesel fuel.
Electric forklift trucks are generally easier to drive than engine powered machines, because they only have an accelerator and a brake pedal unless they are hydrastically powered. There is no clutch pedal or inching pedal, and the operator does not have to "rev" the engine for fast lift or hill starting. The maintenance and servicing costs of an electric forklift is considerably less than engine powered alternatives.
Diesel Forklifts
Diesel forklifts hold many advantages over their gas and electric counterparts. As well as being significantly more powerful, diesel forklifts feature easy-to-maintain engines and very low running costs - in fact, diesel forklift trucks demand just half of the cost of running a gas-powered truck.
However, due to their fume emissions and relatively high noise levels, our used diesel forklift trucks are best suited for outdoor use. When used outside, the exhaust fumes and particles escape easily into the atmosphere, avoiding environmental or health and safety issues which could occur indoors.
Our diesel used forklifts also boast better acceleration and lift speeds than electric forklifts. When you come to us for diesel forklifts for sale, you won't have to worry about a shortage of battery - unlike with electric trucks.
Gas Forklifts
Gas forklift trucks have been designed to provide extensive use on a daily basis, with lifting capacities from 1000kgs to 5000kgs. Gas forklift trucks are powered by a gas bottle which is either refillable or interchangeable, and, unlike electric models, they can run continuously with no need for downtime. Compact forklift gas trucks are easily maneuverable in comparison to diesel forklifts, as they feature solid cushion tyres and a compact chassis; this can make all the difference in areas which require careful navigation and more precise control.
